the story

This high-end custom home situated above Lake Washington in Kirkland has a contemporary Northwest lodge appeal. The existing architectural materials include concrete floors, natural stone, and beautiful fir-trimmed structural elements. The interior design sought to enhance the architecture as well as colorfully express the client's energetic young family, by adding warm colors, textural fabrics and woods. A fun focal point was created over the fireplace: a new backdrop made of wood planks reclaimed from a UW gymnasium, adorned with a sculpture of a graceful 'hunting trophy'. The entire house was completely furnished from the living room to the playrooms. A second phase was created later which remodeled the basement into a new Man Cave. You can check out the Cave here.
