The Magnuson Hotel, Papago Inn is a wonderful gem of mid-century modern charm, built in the 1960's in Scottsdale, Arizona. The project goal quickly came together for the restaurant and lobby after the first visit, which was to unleash the mid-century modern heart and soul of the building being smothered by too many corporate hotel remodels.  The inherent treasures:  oasis-type courtyard and pool, large angled rock walls, exposed beams, big diner type booths. A surprising discovery in the bar, was a set of Cleo Baldon bar stools hidden under sage green paint and 80's fabric.  Phase II has recently begun to re-fresh the guest rooms.  Stay tuned!
